Meet our people – Sean Karmann, Commissioning & Technical Support

Thank you for taking the time speak with us, Sean. Can you give us some insight on your work history and how you found your way to Datapath?

Absolutely, I’ve worked in AV across a range of environments, from live lighting shows to city hall maintenance. I was drawn to Datapath by the opportunity to work on high-impact systems and broaden my technical scope.

What are your first impressions of Datapath so far?

My first impressions of Datapath have been remarkable. The team here is tight-knit and communicates effectively. There is a clear sense of organization in how we move through projects and everyone seems genuinely invested in doing quality work while supporting each other.

What does a normal day at Datapath look like for a role like yours?

If I am not traveling to commission a system in the US or South America, I am remotely working on support cases and remote commissioning our systems. Each day brings a mix of technical challenges and client interaction, which keeps things dynamic.

What would you say are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your work?

The most challenging aspects is working under a short time frame in a location to get a system up and running. The most rewarding is having a satisfied client at the end of a successful deployment.

How do you like to spend your time when you’re away from the office?

Outside of work, I perform with my rock bands -Cold Embrace and the Gravehounds- and practicing animation and creative projects.

Finally, can you tell us something people may not know about you?

I will stream online occasionally and have gone viral for it a few times.
